<content type="html">&lt;p&gt;God what a great game.  It was made by &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Bethesda+Software&quot;&gt;Bethesda Software&lt;/a&gt; in the very early 90s.  The very first &lt;a href=&quot;/title/first+person+shooter&quot;&gt;first person shooter&lt;/a&gt; I ever played.  I don't know why this didn't skyrocket like &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Wolfenstein+3d&quot;&gt;Wolfenstein 3d&lt;/a&gt;.  Sure, it had worse graphics but much better gameplay.  And gameplay makes the game.  For one, you had a very fun mission.  You either play &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Kyle+Reese&quot;&gt;Kyle Reese&lt;/a&gt; or the &lt;a href=&quot;/title/T-1000&quot;&gt;T-1000&lt;/a&gt; and try to kill each other.  You are both placed on random spots on a positively HUGE map of &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Los+Angeles&quot;&gt;Los Angeles&lt;/a&gt;.  If you are Reese, you are weaker and you have to find and protect &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Sarah+Connor&quot;&gt;Sarah Connor&lt;/a&gt; but your advantage is that you can heal at hospitals and walk into stores without causing chaos.  If you are the T-1000, you are stronger, faster, but you can't do the things listed above.  God there were so many weapons.  You had your &lt;a href=&quot;/title/uzi&quot;&gt;uzi&lt;/a&gt;s, &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Beretta&quot;&gt;Beretta&lt;/a&gt;s, &lt;a href=&quot;/title/hunting+rifle&quot;&gt;hunting rifle&lt;/a&gt;s, &lt;a href=&quot;/title/ak-47&quot;&gt;ak-47&lt;/a&gt;s. <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Featured the stylization that only &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Sam+and+Max&quot;&gt;Sam and Max&lt;/a&gt; could handle.  Even the copy protection was fun.  In the manual, there were a lot of pics of Sam and Max wearing crazy things like &lt;a href=&quot;/title/snorkels&quot;&gt;snorkels&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href=&quot;/title/turbans&quot;&gt;turbans&lt;/a&gt;.  You had to match up the outfit on a certain page to play.  Of course, just like all copy-protection of the era, it was so easily beatable.  I usually could remember the outfit in question.  What's traipsing, Sam?  Does it hurt?&lt;/p&gt;</content>

<content type="html">&lt;p&gt;A great computer game that was spawned in the mid 90s. It was an &lt;a href=&quot;/title/adventure+game&quot;&gt;adventure game&lt;/a&gt; where you, some guy, suddenly wakes up in this world.  It's a &lt;a href=&quot;/title/50s&quot;&gt;50s&lt;/a&gt;-ish world that is full of horror.  This is not an original idea but I think this game took it to a new level (at least for computer games).  The &lt;a href=&quot;/title/atmosphere&quot;&gt;atmosphere&lt;/a&gt; of the game was really &lt;a href=&quot;/title/surreal&quot;&gt;surreal&lt;/a&gt; (Atmosphere is pretty much the only reason I play adventure games anymore).  There was a baby that lived in a house full of wasps.  There was a huge creepy house in the middle of a pristine-looking town.  The game had (even for back then) terrible quality computer-generated movies but they got the message across.  I remember two distinctly.  There was one of this house full of &lt;a href=&quot;/title/satanic+wasps&quot;&gt;satanic wasps&lt;/a&gt;.  One of the satanic wasps was raping a spider (Something you'll probably never see ever again).  Also, a baby that just takes a huge tarantula and just eats it.  This game disturbed me to a point that I just stopped playing it.  I would play it now so that I can disturb and mess up my brain in order to think more creatively but damn, I can't find a copy anywhere.&lt;/p&gt;</content>

In it, there is an &lt;a href=&quot;/title/utopian&quot;&gt;utopian&lt;/a&gt; society that distributes jobs according to what a person is qualified for.  A large &lt;a href=&quot;/title/committee&quot;&gt;committee&lt;/a&gt; decides these things, and just about everything else.  The main character is a little kid who has just received the job known as the giver.  There is only one in the entire society and the old giver must teach the new giver.  The people of this society have no extreme memories, so they don't remember anything painful, sad, or really happy.  Only the giver has these memories and he acts as a vault for these memories.  The old giver transfers these memories to the main character and in doing so, the little kid starts to see colors (whereas everyone else sees in black and white).  I could never be a giver because I am terrible at holding &lt;a href=&quot;/title/memories&quot;&gt;memories&lt;/a&gt;(I've already forgotten how this book ends).&lt;/p&gt;</content>

<content type="html">Siddartha was also a novel by Swiss/German author &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Herman+Hesse&quot;&gt;Herman Hesse&lt;/a&gt;.  This is novel is loosely based on the life of &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Siddartha+Gautama&quot;&gt;Siddartha Gautama&lt;/a&gt;, founder of Buddhism, but the actual Gautama is not the main character or even a central character.  
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Siddartha is a devout &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Hindu&quot;&gt;Hindu&lt;/a&gt; who is a part of the &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Brahmin&quot;&gt;Brahmin&lt;/a&gt; class.  His father is a priest who is proud of Siddartha's religious accomplishments.  But Siddartha feels unsure about his faith and has many questions.  He leaves with the &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Samanas&quot;&gt;Samanas&lt;/a&gt;, a roving band of monks.  He soon learns much of their ways.  He is able to hypnotize people and will soon learn to &lt;a href=&quot;/title/walk+on+water&quot;&gt;walk on water&lt;/a&gt;.  He finds this way of life unsatisfying also.  He hears the teachings of the &lt;a href=&quot;/title/Buddha&quot;&gt;Buddha&lt;/a&gt; in a sermon and has a debate with him.  Siddartha finds that he must search for his own way of enlightenment.  He soon gets caught up in the trappings of everyday life.  His reading and writing skills gets him a job with a merchant and he quickly becomes rich.  He becomes involved with a &lt;a href=&quot;/title/courtesan&quot;&gt;courtesan&lt;/a&gt; and becomes&amp;hellip;</content>
