CBS reporter and host of
On the Road. Famous for his touching stories of everyday people. Kuralt traveled the back roads in search of
America. He eventually wrote several books including,
On the Road With Charles Kuralt which contained many of his
On the Road stories and became an
New York Times bestseller. For many years he was also the host of CBS'
Sunday Morning. He died shortly after ending retirement to host
An American Moment, a
thrice-weekly series of 90-second slices of
Americana, as wellas the CBS
cable show
I Remember, a weekly one-hour examination of a significant news story of the last 30 years, from complications arising from
lupus in 1997.
