Court Service Agency

The Court Service Agency is an executive agency of the Lord Chancellor's Department that currently carries out the administrative and support tasks for a number of courts and tribunals in England and Wales. Its purpose, it proclaims "is the delivery of justice", which in practice, I think means that it employs all the court ushers and the like and makes sure everybody gets paid on time.

It supports the following Courts;

• The Court of Appeal
• The High Court
• The Crown Courts
• The County Courts (All 226 of them)

• The Immigration Appellate Authorities
• The Social Security and Child Support Commissioners
• The Pensions Appeal Tribunals
• The Special Commissioners of Income Tax
• The VAT and Duties Tribunal
• The Lands Tribunal
• The Transport Tribunal

It operates its own website at www.courtservice.gov.uk which includes useful information on such matters such as Jury Service, how to arrange Probate as well as information on recent judgements and practice directions, online claim forms and leaflets as well as daily Court lists.
