Jason Voorhees is the supervillian in the horror series Friday the 13th. Jason drowns as a child while attending Camp Crystal Lake, while two counselors were making love while they were supposed to be lifeguarding. Jason's mother, Pamela Voorhees, then goes on a killing rampage to avenge her son's death. At the end of part 1, she is decapitated. Although it is not clearly explained, it is generally perceived that when is mother was decapitated, it gave him supernatural powers. He could not die, but could be hurt. He is a serial killer that stars in Friday the 13th movies parts 2-4 and 6-10. (Pamela Voorhees was the killer in part 1, Roy was the killer in part 5) He has killed 133 people. He recovers from the first two parts by just "healing" after a few years. He is buried after being hacked to death, but Tommy Jarvis dug him up to make sure he was dead and brought Jason back to life by sticking a metal post in him, which then got struck by lightening, reanimating him. After he drowns the first time, a demented doctor uses a girl with paranormal powers to bring Jason back to life. After he drowns the second time, a boat accidentally cuts a power line and brings Jason back to life again. It is not explained what happens to him after the toxic waste covers him, but is brought back to life "in spirit" by people eating his body. It is not explained how a body was captured in part 10, but they say they have been keeping him in cryostasis since the last time they caught him.
Jason will also be fighting horror supervillian Freddy Krueger in Freddy vs Jason, due out in August 2003.
