Keihan Denki Tetsudo is one of the principal railways in the Kansai region of Japan. Keihan's main line runs from Yodoyabashi in Osaka to Sanjo in Kyoto, stopping at Temmabashi, Kyobashi, Kadoma, and Hirakata along the way, with spurs connecting it to Uji and Kisaichi. The other half of the Keihan network connects Kyoto to Sakamoto and Ishiyamadera by way of Otsu.

The name Keihan is a contraction of Kyoto-Osaka (京都大阪), using the characters' on-yomi readings instead of their kun-yomi readings: the same technique used in names like Keihin, Hanshin, and Keiyo.
