Invented in the Victorian era the murphy bed folds neatly into the wall to save space. It is often dressed to resemble a bookshelf or cabinet on the bottom. The murphy bed continued to be popular until the 40s. A murphy bed might not be a bad idea if you live in a big city. (Not all murphy beds are manufactured by Murphy, like q-tips and xerox the brand name was adopted into the language)
