The Sirius Cybernetic Corporation is to robotics in general, in the universe of the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, much as Microsoft is to the PC world in our own universe. It is written somewhere that "their fundamental design flaws were masked by their superficial design flaws".
The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation has brought to market such diverse products as the Nutri-Matic Drinks Synthesizer, the Happy Vertical People Transporter, and of course everyone's favourite, the GPP feature on Marvin the Paranoid Android and Eddie the shipboard computer.
At the above mentioned times of special occasion, a special choir of robots sings the company anthem. Unfortunately, owing to a maladjustment of the type for which the company is famous, every robot's singing is exactly a semitone off key.
