A fantastic and brilliantly weird book by Clive Barker. Featuring the Art, the dream sea of Quiddity and various disturbing and compelling characters, such as The Jaffe, a mail clerk who learns of the Art by sifting through undelivered mail for years, and eventually goes around tearing holes in reality. Hard to read, hard to put down once you start. There is an equally good sequel called Everville.
