Any conprehensive plot summary is impossible without potentially spoiling the storyline, but, as of this writing, the comic has run stories involving anthropomorphs ("furries"), magic, parallel universes, and demons. Particularly the latter.

Style of humor is frequently mocking, commonly employing fourth wall gags, deliberate reference to cliches, and the like, although slapstick (usually involving fire) is also fairly common. More recently (starting, I believe, in mid-2001) the strip has taken a considerably darker and more character-driven turn.

Art is highly stylized, and is of rather high quality by webcomic standards. Strips are invariably black and white, done entirely in pen; lighting effects are particularly well done, although characters (particularly faces) can be a bit unusual for one unused to England's style.
