A type of aquarium filter that consists of a fully sealable canister with a powerful electric impeller to move water. It has an intake tube and an outtake tube. The water gets sucked by the impeller into the canister and forced through the media chamber which is filled with filter media, and then back into the aquarium. A somewhat expensive filter that is very effective.
