| A vision problem caused by accumulation of fluid beneath the retina. The resulting bulge, or blister, causes distorted vision in the affected eye. If sufferers close their 'good' eye, they'll notice that lines which should be straight appear warped. With both eyes open, they'll have trouble focusing.
CSR typically afflicts 30-40 year old men, especially those with 'Type A' personalities. So you might be able to avoid it by avoiding stress, or by being a woman.
In most cases, CSR goes away on its own and vision returns to normal (or close to normal) within 4 to 6 months. This is good, because there's apparently not much in the way of effective treatment.
If you work with computers and get CSR, everyone around you will claim it's from 'looking at the screen too long'. |
