Bucephala clangula
Medium sized diving duck, with yellow eyes, black bill, and gently sloped forehead. Mostly eats aquatic insects and crustaceans. Breeds across Canada, and winters in the United States. Prefers wooded areas near wetlands or open lakes for nesting. The beating of its wings can produce a whistling noise.
