go out on a limb

created by dimpster

(idea) by dimpster (6.8 y) (print)   ?   (I like it!) Fri Jun 30 2000 at 17:21:17

To go out on a limb is to say or do something that is bold and a bit dangerous. A similar idiom that is used for slightly more dangerous situations is to "To stick your neck out." In both idioms, the idea is that you put yourself in a vulnerable position.
