my house is a Musical Battlefield

Living at home sucks. It's not so much that you have to put up with the constant nagging from parents to "Be home on time" or to "Tidy your room" it's more the differing opinions, especially concerning musical tastes. Now, I have pretty diverse taste in music but if there is one thing I cannot stand it Pop music. Bland, annoying, soul-less pop music. I get bombarded by Pop on TV, on the streets, even in my own home. I cannot escape it, you cannot escape it, there is no escape for *anyone*.

I have a fourteen-year-old sister who loves pop music. She listens to practically every mundane, irritating and offensive song in the charts. She plays her stereo loud, so I play my stereo loud. It becomes Brittany Spears Vs. Nine Inch Nails, Steps vs. Nirvana, S-club 7 vs. Radiohead. My house is a musical battlefield and I seem to be losing. No one else in my family shares my taste in music; they listen to 'pop'. They seem oblivious the fact that it is all meaningless and all sounds the same. If they took some interest in music, any music, that wasn't manufactured then it wouldn't be so bad. But they don't.

I'm outnumbered, I'm out gunned, and I'm slowly running out of air. My only hope is to get a bigger speakers and really big locks on my bedroom door.

Actually that's isn't such a bad idea...
