method of
control that can be deployed on masses or individuals that doesn't rely on direct or
overt threat of
consequences to keep it's subjects in
subjugation. Often employed in situations where the
oppressor party is in
minority numbers (
submission of
Blacks in
apartheid South Africa is an example.)
