Character found in the British comics
Valiant and
Lion in the 60s and 70s.
He was an
immortal who was doomed to travel endlessly between different times and places, writing a wrong in each place he ended up in (similar to
Quantum Leap in a way but set farther back in time usually).
The only thing that could kill him was
gold.
