Small (190.000 inhabitants) city in the Northwestern part of Switzerland, on the border to Germany and France. Basel consits of three communities (Riehen, Bettingen & Basel).

The city's famous for its carnival, its fair (Comdex Europe takes place there), its beautiful medieval buildings and generally for its open-mindedness. All in all it's probably one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland, certainly worth a visit.

Since the completion of the new "St. Jakob Park" or "Joggeli" stadium the city of Basel's also the proud owner of Switzerland's only really cool soccer stadium and concert place.
