If you would like either an individual writeup or an entire node deleted please add a writeup here and hard link the node title. If you request one of your own writeups deleted you will lose the 1xp you gained upon creation of said writeup.

If the writeup you're requesting be removed is not yours please give a clear, polite reason why the writeup should be removed. The best reason is that the writeup was superseded by a higher quality writeup - this happens a lot and is, in fact, the most common reason for deletions of any kind. Whenever possible, msg the author of the writeup you want deleted to give them a chance to improve it.

After your request is taken care of by the content editors your writeup here will be marked for destruction and deleted within 24 hours. Once this happens please don't edit your writeup here with a new request - wait until tomorrow and submit a new writeup.

Please remember the following when submitting:

  • This node is largely processed by content editors who don't have the broad editing powers of the gods caste. Because of this please submit ONLY WRITEUPS THAT NEED TO BE DELETED here. Take a number and submit your nodeshells to the other window and title edits, as well as moving requests, to the title edit clerk. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • This also means that you should only hardlink nodes where writeups require deletion. Editorial staff can become confused by surplus hardlinks. We confuse easily, after all, we're only human.

  • If you want to keep a writeup's content for yourself, make a copy of it on your own system before it's deleted. We do not guarantee that any writeup will be recoverable or even visible in Node Heaven once it's been deleted.

  • Voluntary deletion of a writeup revokes E2's licence to display the work to the public. Once a writeup has been deleted its content, barring system errors during the clean-up, will remain visible to yourself and to members of the E2 staff who decide to look at it. A deleted writeup's content cannot be changed or erased. If it is important to you that the writeup's text be completely removed from E2, you must erase its content before having it deleted. The reasons for this are purely technical and are not easy to address.

  • PLEASE leave (Don't display in "New Writeups") CHECKED.
The staff can see your Nuke Request in New Writeups, even when you post it hidden. Please don't annoy your fellow noders by unchecking the (Don't display in "New Writeups") box. It will only serve to push someone else's real new writeup off the bottom of the list, and that's no fun. Be Cool.

Editors: please delete a request before processing it so that everyone knows that you're handling it.

Nov:

Can a good case be made for MAME Games: Z and its ilk remaining separate? If not, I'd like to consolidate them. At least half the links are dead (or unfilled with regard to mame games) anyway, so each uh sub-node or whatnot is less than half as useful as it even looks, which isn't very.

Useless as it is; we're probably better off consolidating them into one node and filing it under Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator...assuming we need the damn metanode at all. S'tricky. (Jack)

Dec:

An Essay on Criticism is unnecessarily split up into parts.

Jan:

Kabbalah FAQ III etc. - absolutely doesn't need to be split up.

If I advocate the removal of old, mediocre content then I've got to walk the walk, eh?

Please delete my writeups listed below, or change author to "everyone", as you see fit. Some of them might easily be cleaned up and used as (lede)s for the node.

Let's Get Started:
Virginia
Great Lakes
Chrysler
Anschluss
slavery
self-defenestration
neverendum
Peter Mansbridge
Argonauts
Ulysses S. Grant
Appomattox
CTV
Knights of Saint John
Mars Climate Orbiter
Saint Pierre and Miquelon
Edmund Fitzgerald
shot down
principle of utility
iron fist
David Farragut

Thanks kids! More to come, after these go.
