Peck, George Wilbur, an American humorist; born in Henderson, N.Y., Sept. 28, 1840. Governor of Wisconsin, in 1891-1895. In 1883 he published "Peck's Bad Boy and his Pa"; in 1890-1891 was mayor of Milwaukee; in 1891-1895, governor of Michigan.
