Lan"ce*o*late (?), Lan"ce*o*la`ted (?) a. [L. lanceolatus: cf. F. lanc'eol. See Lanceolar.] Bot. & Zool.

Rather narrow, tapering to a point at the apex, and sometimes at the base also; as, a lanceolate leaf.
