Also known as interstitial cells, Leydig cells are found in the testes and secrete testosterone when triggered by the gonadotropins, leuteinizing hormone (LH), originating from the adenohypophysis. Leydig cells are found in the spaces between the seminiferous tubules - the regions of the testes responsible for spermatogenesis (production of sperm).

Leydig cells: in the testes, the hormone-producing cells that are packed in like bunches of grapes between the seminiferous tubules in which sperms are produced.; the interstital cells in the testes that produce testosterone; they are packed between the seminiferous tubules in which the sperms grow.
