The Path We Have Been Walking
The path we have been walking streches outward before us;
We stand together, hand-in-hand, surveying the way we came.
Six months into the past the path reaches back into the distance,
To where your steps and mine came together for the first time.
Climbing over high mountains and slipping through low valleys,
Our journey together has not always been easy: but here we are.
Turning now to the way ahead, we try and see the future;
But the path is obscured in fog and uncertainty and we worry:
Will one of us stumble, get hurt and fall?
Will one of us loose the path and go astray?
No, for as long as we travel hand-in-hand, step-by-step,
Bound together by our tireless love for eachother:
We shall find our way.
