Announced and shown in expositions since 1997 by both SUN Microsystems and Toshiba Corporation, the Toshiba Confolio 300 laptop has never gotten out of Japan.
Unlike most laptops, this StrongARM-powered notebook is (was?) running JavaOS (1.1.x Java Virtual Machine) which made it the first portable network computer ever and a genuine object of desire for most geeks in these times.
It comes in 2 versions : the Confolio 300-S and the Confolio 300-SH.
Here are its main specs :

• StrongARM SA-1100 processor running at 200MHz
• 16MB (300-S) or 32MB (300-SH) RAM
• 16MB ROM (JavaOS, Java classes and applications) (upgradable to 32MB/300-S or 48MB/300-SH)
• 810MB hard disc drive on the 300-SH model
• 10.4 inches monitor
• LAN and Infra-red (IrDA) on all models
• relatively light : around 2kg
• medium-sized: 265 x 234,5 x 31mm
