What Is An Anniversary?

An anniversary is a marked time to reflect
Upon a journey we have traveled together,
Waypoints charted along a romantic voyage
Of two people sharing the same experience.

An opportunity given to reflect upon memories
Of great times and poor times in richness and sacrifice;
And to measure the distance between our hearts'
Convergence.

An event to commemorate that that has been,
And looking forward to that which will be new:
But most importantly, it offers another opportunity to say,
"I love you."
