I figured some people would want to know where I'm coming from, and a little GTKY piece would help with that. I am actually Russian by nationality, but I've lived in the US since I was about 5 years of age. However, my parents raised me in the Russian culture. You might notice a little different "dialect" in my writing, and this is why.

I'm a married man who is part of a Slavic ministry here in Fairbanks, AK, and this would explain some of my topics I choose for writeups. Our church is called Evangelical House of Prayer, and we conduct services in Russian (sometimes a little Ukrainian here and there) to try and preserve some of the heritage our parents have passed along. There are plenty of American churches here in this city, even Asian churches, but only a couple of Slavic churches. There is one Russian Orthodox church, and our Protestant-based church. There is a third, but I'm not sure they have any membership left. Our goal is to reach out to the Slavic community here. We do not want to judge anyone, but rather reach out with a helping hand.

My desire is to have a career in writing, and I found that this site is excellent for receiving constructive criticism, so I'd like to thank this community!
