On thoughts about E2

I joined e2 on 2013, after several months of of lurking and basking in the archives, full of love letters to Webster1913, and soy, and anus constriction, and radical ideas that have occurred to others.

Unlike many of the noders I highly adore and/or respect, I wasn't around (in e2) to bear witness to these events, I can only see the footprints they left. I see several red links, presumably from people who created inane nodeshells and deleted their writeups when they left. I see cultural memes from a time gone by, even if it was only a few years ago.

I'm not an anthropologist, but this is awesome. I get to see the past (which is still quite recent) and the present at the same time. Some of those actors are still living (that is, active) on e2, maybe I can learn from them.

I want to make a (more or less) comprehensive study of the history of e2. Just from its definition it's bound to fail, because it's impossible to make a 100% accurate map of the past. However, just because it's impossible in theory doesn't mean that its results are useless in practice, and if you don't believe me just take a look at Wikipedia. Working towards an ideal goal may yield practical results in the meantime, even if the actual goal is impossible to reach.

I'll start a series of observations on e2 and its history, hoping that other users will pitch in, hopefully some who can provide a first-hand account of the events.

As if I didn't have enough to do on my plate...

Addendum As someone kindly pointed out, there already exists E2 History and Lore, but I intend to write a history of E2 through the eyes of someone who came later to the party, but not the History of E2
