Work in Progress Costal county in north Wales. Historically a small piece of Flintshire existed to the south-east of Denbighshire totally surrounded by Cheshire, Shropshire and Denbighshire isolated from the rest of the county. Adjacent counties are: to the west Caernarfonshire, east Cheshire, and south Denbighshire.

Principal towns include the county town Flint.
