Giverny is the home and gardens of
Monet. Most of Monet's waterlily and
Japanese brige paintings were done here. While Monet lived there, the
gardens were meticulously cared after by Monet and the gardeners he employed. He had a boat he would take out everyday to tend to the
waterlilies and tie bags of fertilizer to the roots so that he would have perfect subjects to create beautiful
paintings.
His home and gardens are now open to the public with tours and everything. Of course this means that
everyone and their mother is there. The gardens are still beautiful because there is quite a bit of revenue generated from tourists and his house still has a lot of his original furniture and art that he owned.
