Greenville is a medium-sized town in the eastern half of North Carolina, approximately halfway between Raleigh and Wilmington. According to the 2000 census, the population is 60,476 with a median age of 26. Greenville is the home of East Carolina University, and Pitt Memorial Hospital, one of the largest in the state.
