A conventional title or particle added to someone's name in a certain language, denoting respect. -san and -sama are two Japanese honorifics.

It should be noted that usage of Japanese honorifics is not limited to people's names. It can be used as any event (as in "o-hanami"), thing (as in "o-chinchin" or penis), or idea ("o-kangae" or intention).
