Part of the same early- to mid-1990's Nashville hardcore scene that spawned such acts as Salida, Fun Girls from Mt. Pilot, and Spider Virus, this group was known for their stage presence. Local popular legend tells of a show at which the band threw inflatable penguins covered in crude oil into the audience. Another show featured the band members throwing realistic-looking foam bricks into the audience, also covered in crude oil. Martian Tourist Trap was big on crude oil. Unfortunately, none of the music that they produced during this period appears to have survived the band, which either broke up or went the way of the Nashville hometown scene in general after about 1996, which is to say that they probably fell into a temporal distortion of some sort.
