A figurative description of education by way of enduring life's misfortunes. This infamous institution can be revisited any number of times, depending on any number of factors. Unfortunately, this is usually the result of one or more of the following:
  • sound advice not heeded
  • not learning from the mistakes of others
  • incomplete research
  • poor planning
  • shoddy execution of plans
  • unrealistic expectations
  • self-sabotage, unconscious or deliberate
  • external sabotage
  • repeating the same behavior over and over, yet always expecting a different result
  • karma/fate
