Also called the G Clef. One of the two major clefs, the other being the bass clef. The treble clef has the note G on the second line of the staff.

The mnemonic "FACE" spells out the four notes in the spaces (from bottom to top) between the staff lines in a treble clef, while the staff lines themselves spell out "EGBDF" from bottom to top. Most music students remember this as "Every Good Boy Does Fine."

In music notation, a treble clef on the staff looks something like this:

     /\
----| /-----
    |/
----/-------
   /|
--/-|/\-----
 | | |
-|--|--|----
  \ | |
---\|_/-----
