A medium size cymbal. Most range from 14-18" in diameter. Their thickness ranges from extra thin to medium. The name "crash" accurately describes how they sound, though many varieties are available, such as dark, bright, metal, stage, and studio crashes.

Crashes generally have a slower decay than other cymbals.
