To bear forever are mine,
the scars of inadequacy.
the gashes so deep, letting nothing out,
revealing my hollowness;
that ebbing tide inside of me,
shallow, shallower.
Not a drop is left,
I have absorbed it all
in self preservation.
For my sanity I've traded in
my heart and soul.
For coyness
lost my inspiration.

There was no why -
it was never asked.
Demanded only now in futility.
Aimless arrows, prodding at a wound,
self inflicted,
healed, but never bled.
