Formed by the
Legion of Super-Heroes to aid the in fighting a
Sun-eater entering
Earth's
solar system, the Fatal Five was made up of the most dangerous
villians in the galaxy.
The original five members were:
Emerald Empress
Mano
Persuader
Tharok
Validus
After Tharok was seemingly destroyed during an encounter with his clone, Dark Man, and Validus was returned to his parents, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl, the Fatal Five was disbanded. Later, the Emerald Empress reformed the group, including in its ranks only herself and the Persuader from the original group. The new members were:
Caress
Flare
Mentalla
Mentalla betrayed the other members of the group to the Legion of Super-Heroes. She was killed by the Emerald Empress for her betrayal.
