THIS IS THE HOMENODE OF WAVERIDER VERSION 1.37.19.4 (it needs a remodel, I know)
/me misses Butterfinger McFlurry/me misses Hey Hey it might be coming back!!!
The other side of me.
The other, other side of me.
The other, other, other side of me.
The other, other, other, other side of me.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present...
tehAdventure.
What is it? It's an adventure game with an uninteresting name. Got a better idea? /msg me. (Please, God, /msg me! For fuck sake, the current name is shit!)
What's the skinny? It's a cross between a text-based adventure game and a choose-your-own adventure game. Because it's easier to program in choices between two, three or four choices than to program in commands, I've chosen to combine the two. It's written in Java (don't patronise me) and comprises four classes.
What's the backstory? Surfing the net one day, you come across a site documenting the search for the Unknown Treasure - a treasure of such great mystery that nobody actually knows what the treasure is. You adventure through the city, the nearby woods, and the seaside, picking up items and scrapping with nasty critters who just don't like you.
How do I play? First, give me your name, and type in your choice of character type - at the moment, there's 8 types, including Elf, Hunter, Human, and Nerd. Then you get stuck into the adventure. Easy! Then you're given a quick summary and asked to pick a number, between 1 and (usually) 3. Pick a number and keep going.
When's it going to be released? I don't wanna go all Blizzard on you, but... When it's ready.
What'll it cost? Not a penny. I'm offering my skills to the world. My brain in a .jar file, with free Creative Commons licence.
How far have you gotten? At the moment? Well, three out of the four classes are done and dusted. They work absolutely perfectly. Unfortunately, the glue that holds the thing together - the adventure itself - is miles away from completion. I'm hoping for the end of the year but uni's a bitch, so I can't promise anything. There are ~100 scenarios, too, so it's not exactly that simple in the first place.
What will the next version give me? Cheap Viagra, a bigger penis, and the opportunity to take part in business dealings worth $25,000,000, given your bank account details. I'm going to implement a save game function and a score tracker in upcoming versions. Why not this version? Frankly, I just want to get the damn thing running first.
Can I beta-test this thing? Sure. /msg me. I'll send you a beta copy once it's done.

TEH NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONZORZ!!!
- No ducks in 2009! I passed that resolution last year so there's no reason I can't this time. In five matches, I'm doing good.
- Pass first year of uni! So far, so good. I'm passing things left, right and centre. Booyeah.
- Love my girlfriend to bits! That goes without saying.
- Play a more active part in the E2 community! It'll be tricky due to uni, but I think I can do it.
- Finish studying Further Maths! I promised myself I'd do it.
- Build a computer! This one will probably have to wait until I'm no longer a poor uni student.
- Keep up fitness regime! Failing miserably. Thanks to numerous injuries and junk, it's been very intermittent. I'm keeping fit, but not keeping up the regime. Will have to pick up the habit again real quick!
- Another half century! Can CJ do it?
- Keep mouth shut! Stop floundering, stop being sarcastic and smartarsed, stop talking too much... So far: FAIL.
TEH JOKEZ!!!
A koala is sitting up a tree, smoking a joint. A little lizard walks along and happens to see the koala. He asks "Hey, koala, what are you doing up there?" The koala replies "I'm smokin' a joint, maaan. Wanna come have a try?" The little lizard says "Why not!" and climbs up the tree.
After about three or four more joints, the lizard says "My mouth's gettin' a bit dry..." and he falls out of the tree into the lake below. A crocodile comes along and nudges the lizard out of the lake. There being a sort of brotherhood between reptiles, the crocodile is naturally concerned about the lizard, and asks it "What happened to you?" The lizard replies "I been smokin' joints up the tree with th' koala." The crocodile replies "Hm. I'd better check this out."
The crocodile moves over to the tree and calls out to the koala, who looks over, and yells out "FUUUUUUUCK, maaan, how much water did you drink??"
**********
A guy gets stopped by the bouncer at a nightclub. "You have to wear a tie," says the bouncer.
The guy goes back to his car and finds a set of jumper cables, ties them around his neck, and goes back to the club.
The bouncer lets him in but warns, "I'll be watching, so you better not start anything!"
There is no such thing as perfect. The perfect person is the perfect asshole. The perfect person will never die. The perfect person has no appendix.
The journey of 1000 writeups usually begins with one nuke...

Want to *see* me? I have some photos of me on this site, as well as this site. I'm the one featured in the drawing by my far-too-fantastic S.O.
Want to *hear* me? Go here. I've been on a few episodes.
Want to *smell* me? Only very few people get this privilege. Too bad if you're not one of them.
Want to *taste* me? Nope. Good luck there.
Want to *touch* me? If you're kinky, send me an Email; if you're not, send me something inspiring. That way, I'll be touched. Get it? Huh? (Funny funny waverider37.)
Music, please.
- Current Macbook song: Fire Power - Wolfgang Gartner
- Current MySpace song: Shadows - Au Revoir Simone
- Current song stuck in my head: Sundown Syndrome - Tame Impala
I need to clean up my homenode. But between my assignments and socialising and junk, I don't have much time.
Stay in touch,
CJ
