The Cornwall Royals were a major junior-level hockey franchise that played in Cornwall, Ontario between the years of 1969 and 1992. The franchise played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 1969-1981, then moved to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the seasons running from 1981-82 to 1991-92. The Royals won the Memorial Cup tournament three times: in 1972, 1980 and 1981.

After 1992, the franchise relocated to Newmarket, Ontario for two seasons, finally moving to its present location in Sarnia, Ontario (now known as the Sarnia Sting).

Several Royals alums have since had outstanding NHL careers, including Dale Hawerchuk, Doug Gilmour, Billy Smith, Marc Crawford and Richard Brodeur.
