One of the most
important and
influential American bands you've never heard of, MOB's career spanned a
whopping four years, from
1979 to
1982. They left behind three landmark albums:
signals, calls, and marches,
VS. and the
posthumous live album . Bassist Clint Conley, guitarist
Roger Miller, drummer Peter Prescott, and tape-loop wizard Martin Swope made music that sounds like
REM might have if they realized early on that
everything they ever
believed in or
loved was a total lie. Keyed-up yet reflective at the same time, with irresistable hooks. Their song "
That's When I Reach For My Revolver" was recently covered by
Moby and
Rykodisc has released the bands three albums on CD.
Maybe you're right,
I shouldn't judge
What's wrong or right,
This is too much
I'm not judging you,
I'm judging me.
And my academy.
