A Depeche Mode two disc best of compilation released in 1998 on Mute Records in most countries and Reprise Records in the United States. As the name implies, The Singles 86>98 is a collection of Depeche Mode's singles released between 1986 and 1998. This is the second collection like this (the first being The Singles 81>85). The release was met with a lot of success and generated more renewed attention in the band than the previous year's album, Ultra (at least, it seemed to in the US). Unlike most best-of type releases I've seen, this one included the lyrics in the liner notes.
The album contained the following:

Alan Wilder left the band in 1995 and, as a result, is not involved with the following tracks: "Barrel Of A Gun," "It's No Good," "Home," "Useless," and "Only When I Lose Myself." The rest of the band, which was involved on all tracks, is: David Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher. "Little 15" was originally released as a single in France only. The live version of "Everything Counts" was originally released on the album 101, recorded live at the Rosebowl in Pasadena, California.
