Thursday Afternoon
It’s always when I’m having
“one of those days.”
I’ll talk to you
and by some
miracle you just
know
despite my crystalline smile
that I really
need this now.
The
self-loathing smog suffocating me
scatters
when a glance
from your eyes
splashes the room with
sunshine.
I hope you don’t mind the times
when I stop listening
because I’m busy melting into their
euphoric
quicksand.
And it’s those fragments of
time
when your hand slips around mine
shooting its indescribable
comfort
into my bloodstream
and my head sinks into your shoulder
where I wish I could just
freezeframe
everything.
