In
economics, the total value of the annual output of
goods and
services produced within the borders of a nation (
gross domestic product) minus the value of
capital goods used up in the production of this output (
depreciation). Thus, it is the amount of output that could be consumed within the borders of a nation without reducing the stock of economic
capital and therewith the future
production possibilities of the nation.
