Rue the day you ruled Rue McClanahan!
That's what you used to say.
An obvious joke yet I laughed.
But today it is grave.
Rue the day I spoke to you,
for now you trapped me with your heart.
Not delicately like a butterfly,
but like a brute.
Rue the day I lost you,
for I spoke out of turn.
You ruled me, ruined me,
because I was afraid to lose you with the wrong word.
I am compelled towards awkward romance.
and broken people with not much soul.
Rue McClanahan, you fit the bill.
I'll rue the day I met you till the day I rue no more.
