A brief
hallucination, usually associated with alcohol
withdrawal symptoms; also included on the list of
marijuana effects for some. Such hallucinations are not so grandiose as ones produced by
lysergic acid diethylamide or
peyote, but rather quite subtle and short lived. They are often
auditory, but can also be
visual,
tactile, or
olfactory.
In the name of science I offer my own experience with transient hallucinations. Late one night after a scientific experiment involving myself and a heroic amount of ganja, I was sitting at my computer reading various crazies' manifestos when I distracted by the sound of a lawnmower outside my window. Although this seems normal enough, please take into account that it was three in the morning, in the Frozen North, in the middle of February.
